According to the linux-kernel archives, a few months ago the following problem was discussed:
> Mar 9 22:39:17 discserv kernel: Couldn't get a free page..... > Mar 9 22:39:17 discserv kernel: Kernel panic: aic7xxx: (aic7xxx_free) > Couldn't find a free SCB. > Mar 9 22:39:17 discserv kernel: > Mar 9 22:39:32 discserv kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : > pid 60873, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Write (6) 00 00 26 04 00 > Mar 9 22:39:32 discserv kernel: aic7xxx: (abort) Aborting scb 2, TCL > 0/0/0
I am encountering the same problem when attempting to install the 2.0.29 kernel (slackware 3.2 CD distribution).
The archives do not mention any resolution to this, and I was wondering if it has been fixed?
Thanks,
Mike
