Just upgraded from 1.3.77 to 1.3.79. SCSI tape drive is nearly useless. Couldn't write at ALL to a tape, and tried to recover a file from a good tape, and it thrashed and thrashed, and finally died with too many errors.
My results weren't that bad, but I got a nasty crash (with a panic) most of the way into the verify phase of a backup (possibly at the very end). There was some nasty message about memory and/or heap corruption that I didn't have a chance to write down, and nothing in the logs.
