Hi again!
Once again in my continuing sound troubles I have another bug!
make[3]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers/sound' gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -DCPU=686 -march=i686 -DEXPORT_SYMTAB -c ac97_codec.c ac97_codec.c: In function `ac97_mixer_ioctl': ac97_codec.c:383: `card' undeclared (first use in this function) ac97_codec.c:383: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once ac97_codec.c:383: for each function it appears in.) ac97_codec.c: In function `ac97_probe_codec': ac97_codec.c:499: warning: implicit declaration of function `arraysize' ac97_codec.c: At top level: ac97_codec.c:547: warning: `sigmatel_init' defined but not used make[3]: *** [ac97_codec.o] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers/sound' make[2]: *** [first_rule] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers/sound' make[1]: *** [_subdir_sound] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers' make: *** [_dir_drivers] Error 2
ac97_codec.c line 382-384:
/* do we ever want to touch the hardware? */ val = codec->read_mixer(card, i); /* val = codec->mixer_state[i]; */ break;
[the above was static into the kernel, it did the same thing when I tried es1371 as a module]
On the odd chance it might actually work I changed "card" to "codec" and it compiled, but complained about undefined symbol "arraysize". [Disclaimer: I am not a coder; this was me screwing around. Do not try this at home.]
Thanks.
JT
