Greetings, esteemed kernel developers.
I have been having serious problems with Samba for several weeks now.
Unfortunately, I don't have any oopsen to show for 2.2.12 because none are produced; the box just reboots immediately (just as if I had hit the reset button) after I retrieve a file or two from a nearby nt box. I can repeat this very easily; it happens consistently upon retrieving sometimes as few as 2 or 3 files, and sometimes as many as 50-100 files. This happens when running smbclient as a non-privileged user. smbmount takes a little while longer, but it kills the box in an identical fashion: no oops, no hang, just an immediate reboot.
A freshly compiled 2.2.15pre7 reacts a bit better; I am at least able to get an oops on screen and copy it by hand. The decoded oops is below under item 5, and is also attached in case Netscape mutilates it too terribly.

[X.] Other notes, patches, fixes, workarounds: Although the module information above is showing ultra66 and raid1, the problem occurred long before I started using either of these modules, and happens even when the 3c59x module is the only loaded module, and when the system is in single-user mode.
