I think there are simple solutions. Will come back
to this later. For now something else.

The routine bdget() in block_dev.c may return NULL
in case alloc_bdev() fails. Thus, inode->i_bdev
may be NULL. Nevertheless, it is dereferenced
all over the place without testing first.
