Hello, I try to apply the proposed-2.2.11pre2 on a linux-2.2.10 from the kernel mirrors. This is done on a PowerPC platform. The linux-2.2.10 compiles out of the box with the default config for PowerMac. When I apply the proposed-2.2.11pre2 with patch -p1 <proposed... it does without any problem. Then I take the default config file for PowerMac (make menuconfig, exit, save config). Make dep as next step. And at last make vmlinux.
here I get an error in the linking section: [snip-log] make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/andreas/cvs/linux/arch/ppc/lib' make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/andreas/cvs/linux/arch/ppc/lib' ld -T arch/ppc/vmlinux.lds -Ttext 0xc0000000 -Bstatic arch/ppc/kernel/head.o init/main.o init/version.o \ --start-group \ arch/ppc/kernel/kernel.o arch/ppc/mm/mm.o arch/ppc/lib/lib.o kernel/kernel.o mm/mm.o fs/fs.o ipc/ipc.o \ fs/filesystems.a \ net/network.a \ drivers/block/block.a drivers/char/char.a drivers/misc/misc.a drivers/net/net.a drivers/scsi/scsi.a drivers/cdrom/cdrom.a drivers/sound/sound.a drivers/pci/pci.a drivers/macintosh/macintosh.a drivers/video/video.a \ /home/andreas/cvs/linux/lib/lib.a \ --end-group \ -o vmlinux kernel/kernel.o(.kstrtab+0x1054): multiple definition of `__kstrtab_init_task_union' arch/ppc/kernel/kernel.o(.kstrtab+0x50): first defined here kernel/kernel.o(__ksymtab+0x8a8): multiple definition of `__ksymtab_init_task_union' arch/ppc/kernel/kernel.o(__ksymtab+0x30): first defined here make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1
Can anyone give some hints to this problem??
Thanks in advance
