SubjectKernel panic: Free list corrupted (kernel 2.2.10-ac11) and ...
bug-report in "/usr/src/linux/REPORTING-BUGS" format

[1.]

Kernel panic: Free list corrupted
Unable to handle kernel paging request

[2.]

today i get this error from kernel when running batch job over files located
on remote NFS filesystem:

Kernel panic: Free list corrupted

i'm using shell script which (using ImageMagic) converts bunch of images
from EPS format to JPEG format. i'm running it on my computer and files are
located on another machine and are accesses using NFS.

i'm using knfsd 1.4.4-2 (kernel 2.2.10-ac11 right now as a
result of sugestion submitted as replay to my previous bugreport "unable to
handle kernel paging request (kernel 2.2.10)" posted to
linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu). error when running same
batch job on kernel-ac10 did occur too (see attached messages log).

error has been logged in /var/log/messages:

Jul 20 20:44:00 m1 kernel: Kernel panic: Free list corrupted

and also three times displayed on console.

after that, machine was dead (<Alt>+<F[1..7]> worked but after typing
user name console freezed too, <Alt>+<Ctrl>+<Del> did not worked, do not
know anythig about other parts of system).

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address c834c284
[ etc. - see attached messages log ]

Kernel panic: Free list corrupted

[6.]

i do not know how to trigger this error with 100% success but today problems
(machine lock up) occurs 3 times - everytime when running ImageMagick
'mogrify' tool to convert image (from one format to another) - images were
located on NFS file system mounted from another machine which is running
RedHat linux: kernel 2.0.37, nfs: nfs-server-2.2beta44-1 .

portion of /var/log/messages which contains "unable ..." message,
"kernel panic" message and shutdown sequence and boot sequence [see attachemnt]

[8.]

i'm using RedHat i386 linux based on RedHat 6.0 RPMs mostly but with
significant number of packages rebuild by me using egcs-1.1.{1,2}. kernel is
compiled from common source files from ftp.kernel.org (not RedHat kernel).

NFS looks like affected but while at this last "incident" i'm using
knfsd-1.4.4-2 and knfsd-clients-1.4.4-2 (rebuild by me from RedHat SRPM),
previously i was using nfs-{server,server-clinets}-2.2.beta{37,44}
and knfsd{-,-clients}-1.4-2 but same "unable to handle ..." error has occured
with those versions of NFS too.

sincerely
