yup. i noticed that it's much quicker to lock when i use "rsize=32768,wsize=32768" on the nfs mounts. ~2/3 seconds vs ~5min when it's the defaults.
2.2.9 seems to work just fine. or enough to untar & compile emacs over nfs.
(this is all nfs mounted off solaris 2.6)
