While halting/reboot or any other type of system halt I get a panic:

In swapper task - not syncing
I'm running a Redhat 6.0 base, kernel 2.3.6, Intel P3, 128MB physical RAM, ATI Rage Fury 32MB, Adaptec 2940UW, 2 IDE CDs, IDE tape, 4GB IBM and 8GB Seagatge SCSI hard drives. The only change to the kernel 2.3.6 source tree as distributed was the mmap patch sent out a while ago. 2.3.5 does not exhibit this behaviour but is repeatable at will with 2.3.6. I can't go past 2.3.6 as I need FAT/VFAT mounting ability.
More details as requested.
