Subjectcompile error on pre 2.3.9
I tried to build 2.3.9 with NTFS read/write enabled. I received
the following error message -

fs/filesystems.a(ntfs.o): In function `ntfs_getuser_update_vm':
ntfs.o(.text+0x47): undefined reference to `update_vm_cache'
drivers/block/block.a(ll_rw_blk.o): In function `make_request':
ll_rw_blk.o(.text+0x74a): undefined reference to `lock_kernel'
ll_rw_blk.o(.text+0x755): undefined reference to `unlock_kernel'

I am running RedHat 6 with egcs-1.1.2 release, dual Xeon 450 MHz
processors.
