Erk! I don't see why I should be stopped from breaking my box in
the severest manner possible if I want to...

Anyhow, AFAIK there ARE 3 branches. the 3rd is kinda shourtlived though:

dev: oddnumbered pres
beta: even pres, odds
stable: evens
