Hello
I was trying to reformat my /usr partition, but when I recovered it from backup, the filesystem was unusable. The filesystem was created with:
mke2fs -r1 -v -L/usr -b4096 -i8192 -R stride=8 /dev/md0
I tried it several times, and it would not work. Then, I changed the block size to 1024, and it worked fine.
mke2fs -r1 -v -L/usr -R stride=32 /dev/md0
I don't know if this is the same problem people have reported in 2.2.9-10, but it was _ugly_. I'm using kernel 2.3.5, with the value for MAX_MD_DEV changed from 4 to 8.
I'll test it against other versions to see if it happens again. If you need more info, please e-mail me.
Eneas
