I just saw this message when booting Linux in a machine I just installed. It's a Compaq Proliant 1600, 2 PPRO 400Mhz with 128Mb. I use a RH5.2 distro upgraded to kernel 2.2.5 installed on a mirrored set of disks on a Compaq SMART2 (cpqarray) RAID controller:

Everything seems to work, except vmware that says: IOAPIC: unexpected entries field 0x22
