Subjectkenel-2.3.33 fails compile
Lately, kernel compile fails with the following message. The 
machine is i586-pc-linux-gnu, gcc-2.95.2 and latest binutils.

Does someone have an idea what the cure is?

init/main.o: In function `init':
init/main.o(.text+0xb9): undefined reference to `errno'
init/main.o(.text+0xe6): undefined reference to `errno'
init/main.o(.text+0xfe): undefined reference to `errno'
init/main.o(.text+0x125): undefined reference to `errno'
init/main.o(.text+0x146): undefined reference to `errno'
init/main.o(.text+0x161): more undefined references to `errno' follow
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1
