Subjectreading DVD-ROM: Logical block address out of range
using 2.2.13 kernel when trying to sequentially read a DVD-ROM
using Pioneer U303S drive

Vendor: PIONEER Model: DVD-ROM DVD-303 Rev: 1.10
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Detected scsi CD-ROM sr3 at scsi0, channel 0, id 4, lun 0
ncr53c815-0-<4,*>: FAST-10 SCSI 10.0 MB/s (100 ns, offset 8)
sr3: scsi3-mmc drive: 0x/0x cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray

I get the following errrors at EOF of the media:

sr3: CD-ROM error: Info fld=0x4d8e0, Current sr0b:03: sense key Illegal Request
Additional sense indicates Logical block address out of range
command was: Read (10) 00 00 04 d8 e0 00 00 20 00
ncr53c815-0-<4,0>: phase change 2-3 10@079bb245 resid=4.
sr3: CD-ROM error: Info fld=0x4d8e0, Current sr0b:03: sense key Illegal Request
Additional sense indicates Logical block address out of range
command was: Read (6) 04 d8 e0 20 00
CD-ROM I/O error: dev 0b:03, sector 1270656

another problem with this DVD drive:
reading CDs I get up to 4.8 MB/sec which matches the specified 32x speed for CDs.
but reading DVDROM I only get sustained 2.7 MB/sec (2x) all the time and
not up to 8.1 MB/sec (6x). any idea why ?
