Hi,
I am using an Exabyte tape drive on an NCR53c875 card:
Vendor: EXABYTE Model: EXB-8505 Rev: 0051 Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Detected scsi tape st0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 5, lun 0 ... ncr53c875-0-<5,*>: FAST-5 SCSI 5.0 MB/s (200 ns, offset 11)
I have no problem reading from tapes, but even simple writes fail:
erwin:~# cat > /dev/nst0
cat: write error: Input/output error
This operation works fine with previous kernels.
This is 2.2.0pre5, Alpha 21164a:
Linux erwin 2.2.0-pre5 #1 Wed Jan 6 23:47:54 CST 1999 alpha unknown
This behavior also appeared 2.2.0pre4.
