Hello.
With all the talks regarding /proc/cpuinfo recently, it appears that many things have been fixed for the high-end machines, but my 486 is no longer recognized properly. I'm not certain when this has broken, and I'm willing to try and find out if that's important.
Here's my /proc/cpuinfo for 2.2.0-pre6-ac1:
processor : 0 vendor_id : unknown cpu family : 4 model : 0 model name : unknown stepping : unknown fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no sep_bug : no f00f_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : -1 wp : yes flags : bogomips : 33.08
In 2.0.36, it looks quite a bit better, though incorrect (the machine is a DX2/66):
processor : 0 cpu : 486 model : 486 DX-25/33 vendor_id : GenuineIntel stepping : unknown fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid : no wp : yes flags : bogomips : 33.08
If any more information is needed - ask.
Nimrod
