Yes, with 2.1.88, though in combination with ISDN (more specific: ipppd). A short while after the first connection is set up, the kswapd (!) oopses and freezes the system.

Hi,
I get a kernel Oops for 2.1.88 when running the install for osslinux381n-2188
My machine freezes solid, I have to powercycle. I have been using oss for every kernel from 2.1.50 to 2.1.85 without problem, and reverted to 2.1.85 for this reason.
The gory details:
Intel Pentium II 266 linux 2.1.88 glibc 2.06 Yamaha OPL3 SA3 soundcard.
Tech support from oss claims I have bad memory, but I don't buy that.
oss-install hangs while checking for kernel version compatibility with:
unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address c4829dc0 current -> tss.cr3 = 03bfe000, %cr3 = 03bfe000 *pde = 03ea7063 *pte = 00000000 Oops: 0000 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010: [<c4829dc0>] EFLAGS: 00010202 eax: c4829dc0 ebx: 00000000 ecx: 00000000 edx: 00000032 esi: 00000000 edi: c3415f5c ebp: c4828000 esp: c3415f40 ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018
(I omit some here, because I can't copy and paste, the machine is frozen and I have to note things down by hand. I can fill in details if necessary)

Does anybody see similar symptoms?
Cheers Thorsten
