Subjectsamba + smbfs on 2.1.88: patch out there?

Hello,

I am not a subscriber to this list, so I hope this isn't a dead horse:

Someone mentioned to me that there were patches distributed on this list
for the current samba and smbmount to compile correctly with Linux 2.1.88.
I looked through the archive as stored on
http://www.linuxhq.com/lnxlists/linux-kernel/ but didn't see anything that
seemed to match going back to the last week of January. Is there anything
out there or is are these capabilities currently broken in 2.1.8x?
