I just tried to compile kernel 2.1.91 (patched from 2.1.88), and I got the following error:
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.1/arch/i386/kernel' gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux/include -D__ASSEMBLY__ -traditional -c head.S -o head.o /tmp/cca07945.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/cca07945.s:946: Warning: Repeat < 0, .fill ignored /tmp/cca07945.s:1144: Error: attempt to .org/.space backwards? If you need anything else, please let me know. If this bug has been reported like a million times, please forgive me, for I subscribe to the Digest list only, and since the compile urged "Please report this bug" I figgured it wasn't kidding.
