Try: mount -t vfat /dev/hdc1 /zip
There are actual partitions on zip disks. You can ignore the complaint about the CHS/LBA differences.
I noticed discussion about booting off ZIP drives. I'm almost positive that you can boot off ATAPI drives as long as your BIOS supports it (since I have a normal floppy also, it makes the ZIP drive, drive B:)
