In some cases (repeatable) reading from scsi cdrom hangs. The process stays in D state and can't be killed. It seems it happens when copying large files. No kernel messages. The hard disk on wide cable works reliably even after the cdrom hang. I checked termination and it looks ok.
The system: alpha pc164, aha2940uw, cdrom 24x on narrow cable, linux 2.1.90.
Alexander.
