System: ALR Revolution 6x6 BT-950 DPT PM-3334UW (with 11 4.5G drives in RAID5 array, 40% used, 11% inode usage) SMC EtherPower 10/100 (tulip.c 0.77) kernel: 2.0.30 + filehandlepatch + ip_fragment.c fix
For the 3rd time in as many weeks, this machine has gone into a loop of:
VFS: No free inodes - contact Linus
This time, without the interspersing of SYN messages (I had RST cookies turned off, thinking that was the cause before!)
So once again, I'm at a loss as to why this keeps happening, out of the blue.
This is a production server, so I don't want to venture into 2.1.* yet, and because of the tedious balance between tulip.c, SMP and kernel, its getting really hairy.
