Hello, All !
Recently I added 64Mb more memory to my pc, and now have 96Mb. Very nice, I don't hear HD is moving for hours. But : 1) I've found a lot of zombies processes ( uptime is small enough, and nothing "non-standart" was happened ) 2) average load is always higher than 3.00. As if just kernel adds "3" constant to this. Anyway, real load is not more than 0.3...
I remember, that there was some thread at least about zombies ... The actual question : how can I fix it ? The best way is to patch for 2.1.65... I really don't want to change kernel now ... Or it is the only way ?
For info : here is non-SMP Pentium(AMD) mb. Strange things start happening just after additional memory installation. Now I have about 132 zombies :( Most of them sendmails, as if I subscribed to lots of mailing lists ...
Thank you.
