What about only using delayed ACKs when the data packets are 75% or greater (or some other large percentage) of the maximum packet size.
Interactive sessions are unlikely to send full packets, and if they do it would normally imply that there is more data to come soon anyway.
See the patch I posted, it does precisely this ;-)
