I periodically get the following oops while playing quake, happens with both the latest squake and qwcl (quakeworld). I can't really say what causes it exactly, it doesn't allways happen, but it happens every few days.
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address c0000003 current->tss.cr3 = 011cf000, %cr3 = 011cf000 *pde = 00102067 *pte = 00000000 Oops: 0002 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010:[ppp:ppp_register_compressor+-57724/96] EFLAGS: 00010086 eax: 0280c524 ebx: 018582b8 ecx: 0000005c edx: 00000018 esi: 20000000 edi: 00000003 ebp: 403e09d4 esp: 010a3fb4 ds: 0018 es: 0018 fs: 002b gs: 002b ss: 0018 Process qwcl (pid: 25449, process nr: 14, stackpage=010a3000) Stack: 0010c832 00000003 00000000 00000000 bffe0740 40404400 bffe1640 0010b90b 00000003 0000005c 0000006b 00540000 0000002b 0000002b 0804c7de 00100023 00010206 bffda94c 0009002b Call Trace: [do_fast_IRQ+42/76] [fast_IRQ3_interrupt+59/96] Code: 6c 69 6e 75 78 7c 6c 69 6e 75 78 20 63 6f 6e 73 6f 6c 65 00 Aiee, killing interrupt handler
at this point quake seqfaults, pppd stops working, and I have to kill it, and re-run it, and the screen is left in graphics mode, so I have to run restoretextmode..
My cpu is a cyrix 6x86 150+ 32 meg ram, 2 ide hard drives. This is my first bug report, so please let me know if any more information is needed.
