Correction. I am not up to date with the kernel: I run 2.1.85+Ingo's IO-APIC patch. Tyan Tomcat IIID, dual P200, 3 IDE DISK + 1 IDE CDROM. The system seems stable. No IDE disk corruption, no problems so far. May be a particular hardware combination can trigger the problem, but the IO-APIC code seems okay for me. From my point of view, IDE code and IO-APIC code seems stable in 2.1.85 SMP + IO-APIC (booting with pirq=0).
