I don't have the office laptop this week, but it is a Toshiba 420CDS that uses a Chips and Technologies 65550 chip to control the lcd screen. I notice there is a video driver for this chip in drivers/video/chipsfb.c, but that is only enabled for the PowerMac. I wonder if the chipsfb.c driver is robust enough to be used for a video driver in x86 mode?
