I am pleased to announce that 2.1.37 (with the 37-7 pre-patch) works! This uses the aic7xxx SCSI driver and a NE* network card. I recompiled the sources for __EVERYTHING___, yes I have MUCH more than kernel sources. Including the C-runtime libraries and X11R6.
The X11 sources failed to compile (not the kernel's fault, ran for about 30 minutes then decided it didn't understand ELF) as did a few things in NetKit (some headers are changed since the last time I updated). The machine logged no errors in about 12 hours of "compile-stress" testing. Further, I had all the usual network daemons running with a continuous 'chargen stream` being sent to two other machines.
