Subjectide question
Hey,

I have a 240mb harddisk which seems to have a faulty cache. When doing
make zImage the machine reboots once in a while or gcc gets a segmentation
fault etc etc.. After testing it on 3 machines I came to the conclusion
that the drive is faulty and probably the cache (A low level format gives
no errors so no physical surface problem).

How can I turn of _all_ use of the cache? Do I need to use hdparm? I
haven't been able to figure out all the parameters (or it just doesn't
help).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andi
