SubjectRe: No atime
I did a grep for st_atime across my source directory (which doesn't
contain every package installed on my system). The only programs that
seem to use atime are those that use it to see whether you have got
new mail that you haven't read yet. So don't use this option on
/var/spool/mail.

I'd like to point out to those who say 'Posix at any price' that:

a) It's only a mount option + a very small patch - you don't have to use it.
b) NFS isn't Posix-conforming either, but it's a very useful filesystem.
