something that I think would be nice, is a way to assign ip addresses to
clients that have telneted in. This could be done via ip aliasing or
something.

Actually, it would assign ip address per user...
so even if the user was telneted in 14 times, they would still have the same
ip address. So IP assignment would be dependant on user name/login rather
then tty.
