Subjectmodules, scsi: kernel panic
Date

hi,

I have a very old disk which is obviously damaged and therefore takes a
long time (if not infite) to be recognized.

Additionally, I have built all SCSI-relevant kernel-code as a module.
When I type "insmod scsi_mod.o; insmod sd_mod.o; insmod aic7xxx.o" then
the kernel will try quite a long time (if not forever) detecting the disk.

Switching to another VC and typing "lsmod" will show that aic7xxx is
[uninitialized], on the other, previous console, insmod is still in
progress.

At this point it is possible to type "rmmod aic7xxx" on the other console,
which will cause a kernel panic. Shall I send the panic-report ?
