SubjectLater 1.3.X kernels and efax
From
Dear kernel and serial driver gurus,

I was happily running efax07a on USR Sportster modems with kernel
1.3.32. Upgrading recently to 1.3.75 and then tracking each kernel,
I'm now having problems with efax.

Symptom #1: ``cu'' no longer works:

root@satyr[/]:507$ cu -lcub1
Connected.
I type==========> AT
OK
cu: Got hangup signal

Disconnected.
root@satyr[/]:508$

Symptom #2: I can no longer receive multi-page faxes. I get the first
page and the modem drops the line.

I'm starting to think that perhaps efax has a bug that didn't show up
till some of the fixes in the serial drivers.

I'm running this modem on a Cyclades 8-YO card, using the Cyclades
character devices. The hardware is fine, since when I run getty_ps
across the same line, I can run ``cu'' without getting the immediate
hangup.

Do you have any idea what the cause of this could be? Please help.
