SubjectRE: broken flock() messages
If you look in Documentation/Changes, I'm trying to keep up with
everything that's changing in the kernel, breaking stuff ;-). If anyone
has suggestions, comments, advice, spelling flames (*grin*), etc., just
send them my way.

In this case, read the section on libc. The flock system call was changed
in 1.3.x, and it breaks with older libc's. Just upgrade to 5.2.18,
recompile any old static bins you might have that were linked against the
old libc and that might call flock (stuff like agetty), and you should be
all set.

later,
chris

PS. Hey Linus, just when can we expect to see that promised ESP-driver in
the kernel? Obviously, I need it, or I'd already know the answer to this
question ;-)
