I have just down-loaded procps-0.99a.tar.gz and tried to build it with the SHARED option turned on. It failed with:
ld -shared -Wl,-soname,libproc.so.0.99 -o libproc.so.0.99 alloc.o compare.o devn ame.o output.o pwcache.o readproc.o signals.o snap.o status.o sysinfo.o version. o whattime.o ld: unrecognized option `-Wl,-soname,libproc.so.0.99'
I can find no reference to a -W option for ld anywhere and the above syntax does not look like the -W option on gcc so I am at a loss.
Where do I find the remedy please?
Cheers and thanks, Stephen.
PS. The static version seems to build without problem. (After I fixed a few library paths)
