SubjectRe: Linux-1.3.88 - Code Freeze
I get signal 11 and signal 7 when compiling 1.3.8[78] while another
compile is going on. This is NOT a hardware memory error. It fails
in arch/i386/kernel/signal.c every single time.

The system is an AMD DX4/120 VLB, 24MB, 128MB swap running 1.3.88.
System is RH 3.0.3 w/ latest SysVinit, procps, etc...

While running X w/ Netscape running, I have two Xterms open.
In one Xterm I run `make clean ; make boot' in the 1.3.87 tree.
In the other Xterm I do the same on a 1.3.88 tree.

Half the time both with crash in signal.c w/ signal 11. The half
of the time one will crash w/ signal 7, while the other successfully
builds to completion.

If this were a hardware error I would expect it to crash randomly in
different source files, but it's always signal.c.

Someone else on this list was reporting similar behaviour. Is there
a change in the swap behaviour that could account for this?

What can I do to further help solve the problem?
