True story I just _want_ to tell: two Macintoshes in my office, one of
them is a 7500 (with CD drive) which stands in a "dead corner" of the
table (no keyboard before it). Mac has audio CD playing software that
allows for remote control over the LAN. Colleague decides to stop
listening to CD _now_ and clicks the appropriate button. CD tray opens
and pushes my conveniently placed coffee cup just to the edge of the
desk. :-)

You're right, it's a not-so-good idea.

OTOH, I do like the Solaris automounter; it just shouldn't block the
drive in case someone wants to run workman...
