Count me in as well. It does shutdown/reboot/change levels, although slower due to all the 'cannot read inirequest' error messages.
On a related note. I was able to use backspace/delete key at the console login prompt with 1.3.79 with no problems. In 1.3.32 and 1.3.81 I get those ugly little square boxes instead of erasing the previous character. I remember a long time back someone posted an `stty ... /dev/tty1' command which cleared this up. What changed in the kernel to cause this to reappear?
