Subject1.3.79 won't boot
Hey industrious kernel-hackers,

I tried upgrading to 1.3.79, but it won't boot. When it tries to
initialize block devices and mount the root file system, it says that it
"can't find root file system on 03:45" and then panics.

I have NO idea where the 03:45 is coming from, so I don't know what
information is relevant and necessary to fix the problem ;-). I guess
the change was something in 1.3.78 (which I never got to compile),
because 1.3.78 --> 1.3.79 didn't change ide stuff.

Here's bootup messages from a successful boot with 1.3.77 (with a little
context):

As you can see, I have two ide hard drives, the first a 540 Conner and the
second a 420 WD.

Here's entries from fstab:

/dev/hdb5 / ext2 defaults 0 1
/proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 /home ext2 defaults 0 2
/dev/hdb6 none swap defaults 0 0

Here's the partition table for hdb (the root drive) from cfdisk's save to
file feature:
