Hi,
Tested with some linux-1.3.xx until 1.3.77.
This is a long standing bug in the linux NFS client code. (Since 1.2...)
We use some scripts wich do heavy I/O (creation and deletion of dirs and files) on NFS mounted Filesystems.
We can easily reproduce the following kernel message
kernel: nfs_refresh_inode: inode number mismatch
After this kernel message the current directory looks weird. one has to chdir to some other direcory in order to flush the incorrect linux buffers.
The NFS Server for this problem is an Sony News OS 4.1R ;-)
How can I debug the problem?
Please CC to me, because I am not on the kernel list/and my current vger.rutgers/News gateway seems to be down.
Thanks. Olaf -- Dr. Olaf Flebbe Phone +49 (0)7071-9457-32 science + computing gmbh FAX +49 (0)7071-9457-27 Hagellocher Weg 71 D-72070 Tuebingen Email: o.flebbe@science-computing.uni-tuebingen.de
