SubjectSecuretty, ttys

Hello,

I do not know one thing.

I intented to let root logined only from my Linux box, not telnet.
so I modified /etc/securetty. Several days ago, It worked fine, that
is, the telnet user could not login as root, and could SUed to root.
but now, I tried, I can sued to root from ttyp*, I do not know why.

and I want to know the function of the file /etc/ttys
