SubjectPIO modes & Triton
Date
From

Hi all,

I've a Triton II motherboard and I want configure my
hdd IBM 1,7Gb EIDE (IBM-DJAA-31700) with the PIO mode 4,
but when I try with hdparm (v3.1)

/ # hdparm -p 4 /dev/hda

it reports

/dev/hda:
attempting to set PIO mode to 4
HDIO_SET_PIO_MODE failed: Function not implemented

why the function is not implemented ? triton.c reports on head that can I
set the PIO modes. How can I set it ?
When boot, the BIOS report PIO mode 4, this value is changed by the kernel
during the driver initialization ?

Thanks in advance.
