Hello, Earlier on in this mailing-list, there was some discussion of /proc/cpuinfo reporting stepping =5, for the 586 I believe. The reply was to pass the kernel the command line option of mem=nopentium.
The questions are:
1- Is stepping = 5 a 'bad thing' ?
2- Since I am not using lilo, how would I pass the command line option of mem=nopentium to the kernel?
Thanks much in advance,
Morgan Sarges sarges@sdinter.net
