I'm engaged on a small contract which is using a cryptographic library which attempts to do memory page locking via calls to mlock and munlock. It appears that only recent shared libraries (e.g. libc.so.5.2.18) support these calls, but I have no man pages on them on any of my Linux systems. I would assume that memory locking must be supported by the kernel in order to work. If so, and if it is supported, how far back, version-wise, does this support go? The system on which I'm doing my development work is running kernel 1.2.13.
