Sounds a bit strange for "pattern type" to be bool. What does this do ?
Does it enable/disable something ?

Why not do all the pattern related writing in one shot, instead
of two loops ?

set_dsb_pattern_ts() in line with the other helper functions ?
Rest looks fine to me.
