There is already a review from Alexander, so I only commented on some things that caught my attention after glazing over the patch.
I will do a full review of the next revisions.

Here you have comments ending with and without a dot (.), maybe make it uniform.
Maybe the comment on the structure can be removed as they are explained right above?
