I meant people who are at conferences or on vacation normally stop working with their work related mailing lists. I vividly remember Linus mailing something like this, "I've flown somewhere, I won't have [stable] Internet, please postpone this and that". At least a couple of times.

That implies you've been subscribed to the mailing list earlier. Will not work for the vast majority of people.
