The kernel is currently building, you should get it by the evening (CEST).
The machine also serves as a Debian buildd which is why it's a bit more busy than other servers.

It's not difficult, it's just a bit of annoying package work including some trial and error testing.
Once the cross-compiler is in Debian, it will be available in Ubuntu as well.
