You are blindly replacing .config with $(KCONFIG_CONFIG).


What kind of usage do you assume for KCONFIG_CONFIG ?

$(objtree)/$(KCONFIG_CONFIG) means
$(KCONFIG_CONFIG) never becomes an absolute path.
